Is the speedometer on my Freightliner not working?
The speedometer & odometer are not working. I hooked my prolink to it & do not get a Freightliner..The speedometer & odometer are not working… I have a 2003 freightliner with a 500 Cummins/10 speed that gets a true 6 mpg.

What kind of engine does a Freightliner have?
2005 Freightliner Columbia with the Mercedes Engine and ZF Meritor transmission that went haywire electronically. Freightliner dealer in Stockton, CA wanted $30,000 for the repair. After converting to a 10 speed manual and a whole lot of other problems the truck is ready to run but the odometer and speedometer are not working.

When to go to Freightliner for electrical problems?
I always recommend to customers with weird electrical problems like this or something specific to your make of truck to always always always go to dealer that specializes and sells that make. The techs at Freightliner will have the most experience and the best wire diagrams and information over any other dealer.
Are there any problems with Freightliner Columbia elecrical engines?
If the engine ECM has experience a loss of unswitched battery power or communitcation failures from the 1939 datalink it will log codes for that which should be able to point you in the right direction for a solution. Overall a great company to work for. They genuinely care about the drivers and are constantly looking for ways to improve.
Why is my a / C not working on my Freightliner?
A/C stopped working. No problem took to dealer in French Camp CA. Found out that a bolt holding the condenser had come loose and wore hole in it. Well, not OK, seems that Freightliner does not know how to use locktight to keep bolts tight. Was told it was a mainanance issue and my problem.
