Is the rear window defogger on my Chev Impala working?
The rear window defogger does not work on my 2008 Chev Impala. Just stopped one day. The owner’s manual says nothing in the fuse diagram about a fuse for that particular circuit. I had just assumed that was it.

Use a fuse puller, sometimes there is one clipped to the fuse box, pliers could break the plastic then you have a mess, you would have to get the prongs out. Check the underhood fuse block-look for ‘RT I/P #3’-this fuse controls the rear defogger. There is also a circuit breaker at the right side fuse block in the instrument panel.

Open the passenger front door, pull the side dash cover off and look for REAR DEFOG BRKR. You can swap it with the breaker above it to see if it’s the breaker that is bad. There is also a REAR DEFOG RELAY to the left of the breaker.

Click to expand… Check for power at the dark blue wire in the 6way flat connector with key on. Check with lockout switch on and off. It should change when you change position of lockout switch. If it does its a wiring/connection issue, if it doesn’t you’ve got a bad switch. Same problem – all four windows stopped at the same time.
Why is the sunroof not working on my Impala?
I have an 04 impala, yesterday the windows rolled down, now all stopped working at same time. I saw in owners maual that a relay controls windows AND sunroof. the Sunroof still works. I dont know what else to check. Thanks
