According to independent testing, Rohloff hubs are just as efficient as a derailleur drivetrain at transferring the power from your pedals to your rear wheel (~95% efficiency). In the mud, they would presumedly be even more efficient!
What is IGH in bike?

Running a couple of Alfine 11 with no problems, but not huge mileage. They are much more sensitive to cable setup than the 8, so you start getting “missed” changes, but quick fiddle with the barrel adjuster and away you go. That’s been my experience too. Never had any leakage either.
What is a nexus hub?

What’s the difference between the Shimano Alfine and Rohloff?
With the Rohloff, each gear feels firm and tight, much the same feeling you would get with a single speed or derailleur setup. The Alfine on the other hand feels a bit spongy, particularly at the low end of the gear range. We have also experienced on more than a few occasions that the Alfine slips when really pouring watts into it.
What kind of sound does the Shimano Alfine make?
As for sound, the Alfine is completely silent, it doesn’t even produce any noticeable ticking sounds when freewheeling. The Rohloff is entirely quiet from the 8th gear and higher gear ratios. But from the 7th gear and lower ratios it makes a sort of a humming noise.
Is the Alfine 11 a good alternative to the IGH?
Summary: The Alfine 11 is not really the alternative that we or the IGH touring cyclists were hoping for. While it’s a great hub for an urban commuter, our touring customers want more than it has to offer in many ways.
