Why is my AFM not working on my 2013 Truck?

My 2013 doesn’t, as I have disabled it. The only visible sign AFM is working will be when it switches modes it will read 4 cyl or 8 cyl in the DIC. Some vehicles wont switch back and forth unless their on a flat road at steady speeds and under 2000 rpms. Then why can’t I get it to display on the DIC?
