How to fix a 2008 Dodge Nitro heater?

I just fixed an 08 nitro for nothing. Remove the heater core hose closest to the motor at the firewall. Cut off a piece of garden hose about 4 foot long and slip it over the core pipe, so you can flush it out. Now remove the other hose but leave the hose attached to the core. You will be unhooking it downstream on another pipe by the exhaust.

Why does my Nitro heater blow but not hot air?

When stopped at idle, hot coolant is not circulating through the heater core, so no heat. As the engine increases in rpm’s when you pull away from the light, the water pump is spinning quicker, and some coolant is making it to the heater core. There are two hoses coming to and from the heater core. They both should feel warm or hot to the touch with the engine on. If the neither hose has any heat, you may have air in the cooling system, low fluid, or low pressure.
