The Next Generation came out with the Cummins ISX and had pretty much the same problems as the Cummins ISM did. EGR issues were common problems on these engines. You would get a warning light on the dash and a code stored in the ECM. Most of the time the problem with the EGR valve was that the EGR valve would not open and close all the way.
