Do you have to remote start a Ford Escape?
If I go to the car and start it manually, then shut it down I can then use the remote start without any issue. But having to start manually before remote starting surely is not the SOP lol. I thought I would ask here before I took it into the dealer… Haven’t had that issue with my ’18 but I did have it with my ’15.

Hi Ben, my 2008 Ford Escape takes about 30 times of turning the key in the ignition to start. This started out less severe as last week I would turn the key, the battery would turn on, but not start, but the second time I pulled it out, pushed it in (the anti theft system requires you to push the key in and turn) and turned it, it would start.

I’m having an issue with my 2013 Titanium. The remote start will start the vehicle, but after only about 15-30 seconds it shuts off. This all started about 2-3 weeks ago, up to this point it has worked fine.

Why does my Remote Start and shut off?
The remote starter shut off because you pressed the brake pedal. You instinctively turned the key to start, and nothing happened. Then, after you tried it a few more times, you decided to remove the key, and that didn’t work either.
