Will a 305 TBI work on a 350?

the tbi’s are exactly the same, they are even the same on the 4.3 liter v6’s. just swap the engines don’t worry about anything else. Everything is the same except the bore sizes of the engine.

Is there a TBI option on a 1989 Camaro 305?

If I recall correctly, The TBI option was only available on the 305 itself which was only in the all new 1989 RS Camaro. In 1988 you could get a plain jane V8 Camaro and it was not an RS, just a Camaro only not an IROC either.

Can a 305 Camaro be upgraded to 350?

Your car had engine options from the factory but only the 305 was available with TBI, when your car was optioned with a 5.7L 350 it came with MPI. So the problem we have here is that there is no prom made to go into your PCM from GM for an upgrade that is compatible with a 350.

What kind of injectors does a Camaro 305 use?

Really don’t mess with changing injectors much on the 305 engines but have lots of customers that run the LT1 Z28 cams in the Camaro 305 engines and like to use the 350 truck injectors and I program the chip to run with those injectors.

How big of a bore does a 305 TBI have?

The stock 305 and 350 TBI unit has 2 (1 11/16″) bores which flow 450 cfm of air. Up to 230hp engines that air flow is fine. you can do the ultimate TBI mods to the stock 42mm TBI unit and get that air flow up to 500cfm without increasing that bore diameter which is plenty for any 305 engine that you can run with TBI.

How much does it cost to rebuild a 305 Camaro?

A normal rebuild in your car would run about $2100, the problem with upgrading to a 350 from a 305 is the lack of a good core engine and that we have to supply a complete core to rebuild.

What’s the VIN on a 1989 Camaro RS?

My white book shows two 305’s and a 350 in 88, 89 and 90. I believe a “F” in the Vin indicates 305 TPI which I think came in the IROC, the RS got the “E” 305 TBI. RobZ444, Here is the VIN decode for the 1989 model year.
