If the truck is sittin still, the 4WD won’t engage in HI or LOW. It seems to only engage if I’m drivin down the road at normal speed.

2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie trim. 4WD light started flashing, instrument panel lights oscillating. Eventually the truck would not even turn over. Towed to dealer. They replaced the TIPM board. Drove off the lot and immediately back again as the 4WD was not working. Now a new 4WD actuator. Problem reoccurs at least once yearly.

Phoned the dealer here in Prince George and the actuator P/N 52114387AF sells for $280.00. Bought one in the USA for $127.00 plus $43.00 for international freight. Took the TIPM out of the truck and disassembled to look at the IC’s. None fired this time. A new TIPM is $1200.00 at the dealer.
Why do people not like the Dodge 5.9 engine?
Most people don’t know or care that it will clobber any current small block on low end torque and horsepower,below 3000 rpm. And most of these guys who are so proud of their big horsepower numbers don’t look at their tach enough to realize that 99% of their driving is below 3000 rpm.
How much does a Dodge 5.9 engine cost?
The upgraded computer that gives the 5.9 more of a performance tune is good for about 20 HP, not bad for $300 and 5 minutes work. I have a 360 in my Ram I will say the engine is awsome and I love all the power but it is definetely not a race engine.
Why do people not like the Dodge 360?
I agree the 360 is a good motor.I think the only reason they get ragged on is Chryslers engine management controls or lack of compared to GM and that clouds the issue.I just picked up a 2001 a few weeks ago,so far so good. away from Dodge was the lousy gas mileage and lower hp compared to GM. I don’t haul or tow so I’m more into hp than torque.
Why do people not like the Dodge 5.7 Hemi?
Times change, and when competitors are offering more output and better mileage it’s just not good enough. Maybe the 5.7 hemi will be just as much of a guzzler, but hopefully it’ll have a higher power out put to show for it.
