Lately my 96 Chevy K1500 pickup has be hard to start when hot. It is the SFI model V8 5.7 4X4 247,000 mi. Don’t let the high miles fool you, everything is in absolutely stellar condition, minus the hard start. First I suspected a vapor lock situation but disproved that, then clogged filters, dirty injectors, low battery, etc etc, all were fine.

Why does my GMC Suburban no start flooding itself out?

If I unplug one of the injectors it starts up and idles and I am able to plug the injector back in and it will idle as normal. If I try and start it with both injectors plugged in, it just cranks and cranks without attempting to start.

Good Morning island auto, well your mention of that kind of pressure does sound a bit high, but the gauge you are using may have an error, generally even if the fuel did drain back to the tank it only takes a few seconds to be replenished and even if the system contains air, I would expect some firing to happen initially.

I stuck a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail port and was reading about 50 psi. Unfortunately, as high as that sounds, the injectors won’t even open until you are at about 60 psi.
