The ignition module was a common fault with these. Quite often it was an issue with a dry joint inside the module, that would progressively fail over time, just like yours has done. You could try getting someone to try and start the car, while you wiggle the plug on the module to see if it fires.

Why does my LS3 swap starts then dies?
I’ve turned off both VATS1 and VATS2, disabled starter checks. Car will start, run for maybe 1-2 seconds and dies. I’m also not seeing any RPM signal when using VCM scanner (along with a speed of 158mph). I’ve attached the tune, it’s completely stock other than the vats/starter mods. Car has long tubes and a holley EFI intake.
Why does my LS3 run longer in crank / start mode?
Your truck ECU injector flow rates dont match that of an LS3. Also the MAF sensor settings are about 400% off compared to an LS3, which makes sense why it runs longer with it unplugged, since the crank/start mode doesnt seem to use the VE table or MAF sensor..
Why does SV8 start then stops [ archive ]?
Never did find a reason for it except did hear if it runs only briefly and then dies it is probably related to the car’s security getting its knickers in a knot temporarily, so possibly not the same thing. macca_779 27-03-2009, 08:05 PM
