Why does my Ford C Max open randomly?
I knew for a while that she couldn’t open the boot using the switch, only the remote button could unlock the boot. No big deal, so we left it. However, a couple of days ago, the boot started opening at random times, mainly when the car was started. It quickly progressed to opening whilst driving or sticking it into reverse.
How to open the boot on a Ford Focus?
The boot on my Focus did the same yours, however it is now solved as the boot switch has packed up completely so the way to open it is to use the boot release button on the key fob! I have the same problem on my wifes focus. I can release the boot with the key remote but not with the boot release.

Hi my boot catch has just packed in (electronic catch) and the only way to get the boot open is with the third boot release remote button on the key fob. Is this the same problem?

As for the boot problem, one of the flaws with the mark 2 Focus boot was that water could get in to the boot switch causing it to fail. Maybe the boot switch on your girlfriends car is faulty causing it activate at certain times?

How to fix boot lid lock random opening problem?
If you look at the bottom of the switch you will see them. It will show a line going from one pin to another, I cant recall if its next to each other or opposite, but it will be like this: each * is the leg, so you just follow it, the switch connects each of the connected stars.
Why is the boot handle on my focus not working?
My Focus (MK2) boot handle was not working since i bought the car whitch i didn’t really mind as i just used the key. But it started unlocking on its own unless the car was locked. This got really annoying really quick. Iv searched around any there docent seem to be a definitive answer. Mainly just people saying that it was down to water ingress.
