C notch is when you cut out a section of the frame above the axle so the axle can actually rest in the chassis a little.
What is under bed notch?
Our custom designed under bed notch allows you to have the right amount of clearance for your dropped truck. It gains you more clearance than a regular c notch. Most importantly you can have a lower drop and NOT have to cut your bed.
What is a notched frame?
When people get their frame notched, it’s because (in most cases) the frame rests on top of the passenger side axle at 0 psi. This causes the passenger side to sit slightly higher than the driver side giving the car a crooked look when air’d out.
How many inches does a flip kit drop?
A flip kit is designed to move the rear axle of your truck from being underneath the leaf spring pack to being on top of the leaf spring pack. This will generally give about six inches of lowering to the back of your truck.
How long does it take to install a flip kit?
an experienced mechanic and helper/assistant should be able to pull it off in 12 to 16 hrs. thats doin an astro for the first time. if they install kits on several vehicles a lot it would probably be around 10 to 12 hrs.
Do drop shackles change pinion angle?
They will change the pinion angle, but not enough to cause any concerns. A 1.5-2″ rear drop will be so slight it will not cause any increase in wear of the u-joints.
Can you stick weld AC notch?
Stick is the the strongest if done right, but not the most attractive. Tig is clean and strong, but more difficult because of the awkward weld position. Mig is prob the overall best for a c-notch. Make sure whenever you are butting two pieces together to chamfer both sides of the joint to get good penetration.
