2005 LJ – Similar problem. Factory Radio would “pop“ and turn off then dash lights and radio lights would flicker. Happened over and over again. After reading this thread popped hood. Checked battery with multimeter and it was good. Started engine and alternator charge function was good.

Nope I bought it in Mississippi. I haven’t tried applying pressure to the dimmer wheel but I have tried adjusting it up and down. When the dash lights are dim it will still adjust them to even dimmer, but if they have gotten very bright it won’t adjust them at all. And if the dash lights are completely out then nothing happens.

Thanks in advance if anyone has any input. All of those systems are tied into the ABS. You were able to park, so I would assume the calipers, master cylinder, and pads are all ok. It might be a speed sensor, or something else, but it is most likely ABS related.

It is a 2005 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.7 4×4. Thanks in advance. Do the headlights flicker aswell? If so, its a multifunction switch. If the headlights do not flicker, i’d be looking at a battery or altrenator.
