Why does the emergency brake light stay on on an 89 GMC?
I experienced a similar problem with an 89 GMC full-size, turned out to be a leaky rear wheel cylinder causing the RABS valve pick up on the pressure imbalance. If you don’t have RABS then it sounds like something with your proportioning valve.
Is there a code for the brake warning light?
No codes for the brake warning light, it is an 87 so no ABS. Try Unplugging the wire on the valve, if light is better, then you found what you have to work on. Might try to bleed the brakes again (I am assuming that it was on after the brake job?)

What makes the emergency brake light go off?
If I reconnect the wire and get the brake’s working properly and press on the brake pedal hard, it should reset the warning switch and the light will go off. Do you have Rear ABS?

Why are rear lights not working but brake lights are?
If the rear light lights up correctly but does not become bright when the brake is applied then the switch of the brake is faulty. This circuit is connected with the brake pedal – if the switch is out of place or connected incorrectly then the pedal may not be able to complete the circuit correctly.

Push the bulbs and turn them counterclockwise to remove from the socket.
Why are my brake lights not working on my 1997 Chevy?
Pull the plastic cap off the fuse chassis and you’ll see a square relay fuse switch and replace it for the brakes. It’s only $13 bucks and is the predominant issue with 1997 Chevy Trucks and the brakes not working especially if you reverse and blinker lights do work. Was this answer helpful? Its the taillight circuit board or a broken wire.
Why are the dome lights on my Sonoma not working?
My dome lights on my 1998 sonoma do not work either the reading lamps or the overhead light. The fuse seems fine and has been tested anything else I can do? Also my light indicator for my 4 wheel drive does not show whether I am on 4 wheel or not anything as to why that is? Thanks! I am wondering if anyone else has ran into this problem.
Is it dangerous to drive with brake lights not working?

It takes a long time to notice when the brake lights not working but tail lights are or vice versa. It is so because you won’t know what is happening in the backside while driving until someone points it out.
