IT SAID GRAY FROM MY OLD HARNESS GOES TO THE SMALL BLACK WIRE TO NEW HARNESS WHICH WAS WRONG !! SO WHEN I REWIRED IT GRAY TO GRAY ! IT PUMPED GAS RIGHT THRU THE FUEL LINE GOING TO THE FUEL FILTER LINE RIGHT AWAY !!

For future reference, I had this same problem when replacing the fuel pump on my 2002 s10 4.3L. Searched forever for an answer. It turns out that in order to remove the bed of the truck, you must disconnect the ground for the fuel pump, which attaches in the rear on the drivers side.

Once the truck starts and is running you can remove the jumper to the fuel pump and it will continue to run. The only thing i can think of is that you are not getting the priming signal to the fuel pump, that the ECM if faulty. It turns over fine.

I have replaced the fuel pump relay oil pressure switch and computer. If you’re not getting a signal for fuel, then you either have a faulty crank sensor, or bad ignition module. But the truck runs great until you cut it off. If you poor a little gas in the intake to get it started would that only effect the starting ? Ok.
