When does the BA Falcon door open indicator stay on?
BA Falcon – door open indicator stays on. I have a BA II Falcon wagon XT. The door open light indicator (only when ignition on) and interior lights are on (whether ignition on or not) as though a door is open when all are closed including the boot. Also I can lock the doors with central locking withou a problem.

It is not the plastic gear inside the motor nor the motor itself as the doors lock and unlock when I hit the button and when I use the key.

If they lock then listen by each door lock while you lock and unlock with the remote and if any lock sounds like it is grinding or noisy then that would be the place to look. The other area that could be an issue is the BEM or Body Electrics Module but more likely to be one of the solenoids. They are accessed by removing the inner door panel.

There have been times that the door has been slammed while being utterly frustrated by either hitting my head on the roof rack (don’t ask) or the door has swung shut while having my hands full and hurt me in the process instead of staying open like I tried to make it do.

Can a BA Falcon XR6 Ute be locked?
I have a BA falcon XR6 ute daily, for the last year or so it hasent locked, ive just checked the acuators and the door open sensors and they check out fine. From my online research it looks like the bem is the only other thing it could be, does this sound correct?. Is there anymore i can do at home to nut out the problem. Liberating France.
Where is the BCM located on a BA Falcon?
Turned out to be the BCM (Body Control Module) located below the stereo on a BA. Has to be replaced and car key code reprogrammed. Cost $250 for the module and $50 for a sparky to install. DO NOT go to Ford as it will cost $1000+
