Hi GMCs! Just turn the key on the ignition and ECM 1 fuse blows. I am trying to find a short in the circuit. Would anyone help me with this task? Any relevant information available? Thanks guys!

Why is the ECM 1 fuse blowing on my Acadia?

When I got the yellow engine warning last week, I scanned the 2011 acadia and it showed P0451 code. It seemed it could be related to EVAP problem. I drove for couple days and then I filled up the tank to top. Now when turning the key (No crank) and ECM1 fuse blows, it shows P018C code.

What does p018c code mean on ECM1 fuse?

Now when turning the key (No crank) and ECM1 fuse blows, it shows P018C code. I did some search and some people report being “Fuel Injection Pressure Sensor” malfuction and other saying “Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor”.

Why does my ECM 1 make a clicking noise?

The voltage or amps surge, causing the ECM 1’s fuse to blow. When the starter fails you will hear a clicking noise or the engine will be hard to start. Why does my ECM 1 fuse keep blowing?

If the wires leading to the O2 sensor rub against the exhaust, it creates a ground; once the O2 sensor is grounded, the fuse to the ECM 1 blows. The O2 sensor must be installed in a different place to ensure the wires do not short-circuit.

What does the ECM stand for in a car?

The electronic control module (ECM) — also called the powertrain control module (PCM) or electronic control unit (ECU) — is a computer which controls the electronics in an automobile.

Disconnected some wiring harness (Pink/Blk wires) and turn key to “On position” . I noticed clicks when I turned the key to “OFF” postion and ECM1 fuse blew again. Whatever charge that blew the fuse came from the PWR/TRN relay. Re-connected all the plug/harness for Pink/Blk wires.

What causes a fuel pump fuse to blow?

When the fuel pump begins to fail it overheats, causing it to drain more amperage (amp); if the amps exceed the amount of amps the ECM 1 fuse allows, the fuse will blow. Replacing the fuel pump should correct this problem. The ECM 1 operates via voltage sent from the battery.
