What kind of planter is a JD 7200?
We run a JD 7200 12 row planter. This is a pull type 1995 model and we’ve had it a few years. It has always been “humped up” in the middle. We have the only pull type planter in the area and the dealer is no help. I’ve tried messing with the master cylinder, but it didn’t seem to help. Does anybody here run one of these?
Are there any problems with the Deere 7200 planter?
Tried re-phasing master cyl, power bleeding slaves, and even rebuilt the lift side of the master cyl. Finally, Deere came out with a kit that solves the problem. It was listed as a recall for ours-a 1999 model- and we had to pay for the parts. Deere ate the labor, which took 2 people a full day to install.

Where is the Coulter on a tubular planter?
When standing behind the planter, the trash wheel needs to be on the left side of the disk opener on the left 1/2 of the planter and the coulter needs to be on the right of the opener. Reverse the trash wheel and coulter on the right 1/2 of the planter.

Can a dual row cleaner be used on a planter?
On planters with row spacings less than 22″, it is unlikely that there will be enough room for a dual row cleaner. In some cases the 1138F narrow-angle cleaner may work, however the 1138F is for an entirely no-till environment, it will not perform properly in worked ground.
Is the John Deere 1140w-1 compatible with the 7200?
If you have a early John Deere 7200 “Conservation” planter with a welded lower parallel linkage, spatial constraints make it impossible to fit to your planter, unless you replace your lower parallel links. The 1140W-1 and the 1140-1 are both compatible with the John Deere 7200, but are not compatible with the 1700 series John Deere.
