What is the temperature of a C7 cat?

What is the temperature of a C7 cat?

My C7 Cat is giving me a lower than normal temperature reading. It traditionally has read just shy of ¾ when at operating temperature. About 2 months ago I noticed it reading ½.

Why is my C7 cat engine so hard to start?

In regards to hard starting, first, filters as previously described and did o ring get put on and replaced upon installation, this engine is famous for injector leak off, from o rings inside-injectors. This will need to be pressure tested also.

Where is the C9 temp sensor on a C7?

On some c7 they are around the top end of the crankcase breather just under the intake manifold. As far as both the dash gauge and digital readout sharing the same sensor, that is entirely possible, my c9 temp sensor data is sent from the engine ECU over the j1939 network connection to the digital readout and from their to the instrument cluster.

Where is the coolant sensor on a cat C7?

Lyle, when the engine is cold and the expansion tank cap is on, and if there is a small hose connected at the base of the filler tube pinch it off and you can remove the sensor with minimal coolant loss if your quick at it. Coolant sensors are usually located toward the upper end of the engine.

What are the fuel pressures on a cat C7 ACERT?

The fuel change dictated that the fuel system of the CAT C7 ACERT needed to change to a common-rail injection system. The new common-rail injectors took injection pressures to 25,000-27,500 psi. The fuel transfer pump supplies the fuel to the fuel rail at 280 psi.

What’s the life expectancy of a cat C7 engine?

B10 is the average life expectancy of an engine measured in miles where 10% of the produced engines failed and needed a major overhaul. Consequently, B50 is the average miles where 50% of the engines failed. With the CAT C7 the B50 rating of 450,000-500,000 miles.

What is the fuel delivery system on a cat C7?

The fuel delivery system on the CAT C7 is hydraulic electronically controlled unit injectors for the mid horsepower models and mechanically actuated and electronically controlled on the higher horsepower models. Both systems are metered and timed to inject multiple bursts of fuel to create a more efficient combustion cycle.
