What is the FSCM on a GM fuel pump?

GM Fuel System Control Module (FSCM) The GM FSCM is there primarily to run the fuel pump itself, and is responsible for maintaining the required fuel pressure (in both port injection and direct fuel injection systems). The presence of a FSCM is a sure sign that the pump is pulse width modulated. The FSCM controls both power and ground to the pump.

Where is the TCM on a Silverado Sierra?

When did I replace my Sierra 1500 engine?

It’s a 2008 Sierra 1500 5.3 J-code. The AFM disaster caused me to replace the engine in October or I would have already traded it in. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks. Re: Bad TCM, BCM, PCM, or ECM??

What happens on pin 17 of the FSCM?

The FSCM controls both power and ground to the pump. What exactly happens on pin 17 to the BCM, I’m not sure, never needed to investigate. I do know that pin 13 is the ECM’s command to run the pump, and is some kind of pull-up signal which can be simulated with a test light.

How to troubleshoot the PCM in a Chevy truck?

If your PCM fails your Chevy truck can experience a wide range of problems. The only way to diagnose a faulty PCM is to use a special tool, called an on-board diagnostic scan tool, or “OBD” scan tool. These tools are available from most auto parts stores. Locate the OBD port in your Chevy truck.
