What is fuel injection module?

What is fuel injection module?

The fuel injection control module (FICM) regulates fuel flow through the vehicle’s injection pump and fuel injectors. As you can see, TechSmart’s Fuel Injection Control Module distributes heat more evenly, keeping critical components cooler and preventing the failure that can occur in the competitor’s unit.

How does the fuel injection control module work?

Diesel Fuel Injection Control Modules Don’t Tolerate Rough Running on Cold Starts On the Ford ® 6.0L Power Stroke ® engine, the Fuel Injection Control Module (FICM) supplies 48 volts to the two injector solenoids. A voltage drop will lead to improper oil flow regulation and fuel injector function.

How is the quantity of fuel injector controlled?

The quantity of fuel that reaches the injector is precisely controlled by an ECU which considers air temperature, throttle position, engine speed, engine torque and exhaust data gathered from sensors in and around the engine to regulate the supply at each intake stroke.

What makes up the fuel supply module in a car?

Fuel supply module containing things such as a high-pressure electric fuel pump and fuel filter. Intake air adjuster to make sure there’s exactly the right quantity of air for the engine. Electronic control unit and sensors to ensure the system injects precisely the right quantity of fuel into the intake air stream.

How does fuel injection work in a diesel engine?

Here both fuel and air are mixed before being drawn into the combustion chamber. In a direct fuel injection system, such as diesel engines use and, increasingly, petrol engines, the fuel is sprayed directly into the combustion chamber under extremely high pressure and directly into the incoming air stream.

Where are the FICM part numbers on a fuel injector?

Note: International FICM part numbers are located on a label on the connector side of the module. To drive the fuel injector, the FICM produces two control signals for each injector. The open coil is driven (via a 20A pulse) to open the injector.
