What does the turbo position sensor do?

What does the turbo position sensor do?

The vane position sensor is used by the ECM on Duramax diesels to properly orient the position of the unison ring and corresponding vanes in the Garrett GT3788VA variable geometry turbocharger found on 2004.5 to 2016 model year trucks.

Where is the turbocharger boost sensor in’05 2500HD?

From the Haynes book. Maybe a mod can rotate the pic. (796) SENSOR,TURBO PRESS (MAP) GM Part 12623671 ACDelco #213-4658). This is your Boost sensor. (909) SENSOR,BARO PRESS. GM Part 19207559

Is there a throttle position sensor on a Chevy pick up?

The throttle position sensor in this video is on a Chevrolet pick up truck. Most General Motors cars will have throttle position sensor’s like this.

Where is the turbocharger boost sensor located in the ECM?

ECM uses feedback from the sensor to adjust turbocharger vane position to deliver desired boost. The barometric pressure sensor is located above the left-hand valve cover and it is used to measure atmospheric pressure.

What happens if you remove the position sensor?

So, if you remove the sensor to clean it, then it needs to be re-calibrated. So, if you remove the sensor to clean it, then it needs to be re-calibrated. Click to expand… Technically, yes, that is correct but in practice you probably wouldn’t see much difference if you just removed and cleaned the same sensor.

Where is the turbocharger boost sensor located on a Duramax?

It is a three wire sensor that provides an analog voltage signal. It is primarily used for diagnostic purposes in the first LB7 Duramax engine. Since the LLY Duramax the manifold pressure sensor has been used almost exclusively for turbocharger control. ECM uses feedback from the sensor to adjust turbocharger vane position to deliver desired boost.

What should I do if I replaced my position sensor?

If you replaced that with a brand new sensor, the mapping may be slightly different and you should definitely use a Tech 2 to recalibrate the ECM for the different sensor. My understanding was that the OP just fixed the wire and in that case, no recalibration should be required at all. Do you have a pic of the area that you taped?

Where is the manifold pressure sensor located on a Duramax?

(909) SENSOR,BARO PRESS. GM Part 19207559 The manifold pressure sensor is located in the intake manifold and measures pressure delivered by the turbocharger. It is a three wire sensor that provides an analog voltage signal. It is primarily used for diagnostic purposes in the first LB7 Duramax engine.

What was the problem with my position sensor?

Just though I would give back to the forum. You guys have helped me out numerous times. After reading threads on here I geared up to take off the position sensor and clean it. Upon my initial inspection I found that the wire to the sensor had been rubbing between a couple of hose clamps and was grounding out.
