What does Service Tire Monitor mean on my 2004 Tahoe?
07-22-2004, 09:55 AM. The Tahoe is set up with a tire pressure warning device. The sensors for this system are part of the valve assembly on the wheel. If the new wheels do not have the sensors in the valves, the system will keep going off because it is not getting a signal from the wheels.
Can you get 4 wheel drive on a Chevy Tahoe?

It would light up red, like in neutral, then sometimes not go into 4-Hi, or maybe stay in 4-Hi and not go into 2-Hi right away. From what I recall, I disconnected the battery or something and the system reset and worked fine ever since. Until this month.

Just bought a 2003 Z71 tahoe w 96,000 miles on it. Went to switch it to 4WD for the first time I was going off road, and the red light came on and the dash board said service 4WD…any ideas or what the prob may be or cost of getting it serviced or where i can get it serviced…I live in charlotte if there are any users in the area

So check the fuse. When in 4wd mode, a switch on top of the transfer case conducts 12 volts out to the actuator. Wire #50 (brown) is the 12v feed, and it conducts to the light blue wire (#900) to the actuator. When shifted out of 4wd, the switch opens up and no voltage goes to the actuator.
