Also, when you say “bogs down”. If you are in the water, at idle, but in gear, and you absolutely hammer the throttle. Does the engine just bog and cough and back fire and not pickup rpms, or pick them up slowly?

Bogging down when driving no power…. Idles fine pressing the gas pedal…. In first gear it has very little or no power …. It crawls ….checked oil & water there OK… Not over heating…im stumped …. Have you done an exhaust system back pressure test? Most parts stores sell the kit to DIY just follow the directions.
