What does a MagicBand do?
Your MagicBand enables you to travel lighter throughout your vacation. Use it to enter the parks, unlock your Disney Resort hotel room and buy food and merchandise. Your MagicBand and My Disney Experience profile will do the rest, creating unexpected Disney moments–just like magic.
What do MagicBands look like?
MagicBands are colorful, waterproof wristbands—resembling a watch or bracelet—that you can quickly and easily touch to a sensor called a touch point. Cards work in a similar fashion, but physically resemble a plastic credit card or driver’s license.
What is the difference between MagicBand 1 and MagicBand 2?
The center part of the MagicBand 2 is a bit larger – it looks more like a watch than the original band. The primary difference of the MagicBand 2 is the center Mickey – called the icon. The center icon in the MagicBand 2 is removable, and can be used in accessories that are sold in the parks and many independent shops.
What’s replacing MagicBands?

Named Disney MobileMagic, the new service basically turns your smartphone into a MagicBand, and all you’ll have to do is register for it via the company’s My Disney Experience app.
What can you do with old Disney MagicBands?
Recycle Your MagicBand If you do not wish to decorate with or re-use recycle their MagicBands. Simply pack with you on your next trip and hand them over to the front desk at your Disney Resort. They will recycle the MagicBands for you.
Is Disney sending MagicBands?
If you are staying at a Disney resort, your Magic Bands will be mailed to your home soon after you order them. In my experience, it takes about a week or two to receive them. If you don’t live in the US, your MagicBands will be waiting for you at your hotel when you arrive.
