I think changing the PTU oil between 5K-10K miles will help me save this bad-design part (dont have $2000 for a new PTU). The transmission oil is much easy to replace. Change it at every 10K-15K miles for longevity. Drive your cars on highway speeds for at 60mph at least between 1-4 weeks.

Do you have to change the PTU fluid?
Ford says changing the PTU fluid is not required, but the first time I changed it, the stuff I took out was nasty and I was happy I did it. There is about a pint of fluid in there, so in my opinion, it’s under-engineered.
