What are the different types of diesel fuel lines?
What are the different types of diesel fuel lines?
There are three types of diesel fuel lines. These include heavyweight lines for the high pressures found between the injection pump and the injectors, medium weight lines for the light or medium fuel pressures found between the fuel tank and injection pump, and lightweight lines where there is little or no pressure.
What is the ISO code for diesel fuel?
ISO 4406 measures the number of particles larger than 4µm, 6µm, and 14µm within the 100ml fluid sample. Using the table below, the ISO code number to the left is used to represent the number of particles per ml.
How does air get into a diesel fuel line?
Air does not ‘leak’ in a diesel fuel line. It gets sucked in, if there is a pin hole, or if you have recently changed fuel filter or lost the ‘prime’ in the fuel system, then air will get sucked into the fuel lines, and eventually will be expelled after a few misfires.
How is the biodiesel content of diesel determined?
ASTM D7371 is the standard test method for determination of biodiesel content in diesel fuel using mid infrared spectroscopy. Biodiesel consists of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) and is blended with ULSD for use in most industries. A 5% bio-blend can be sold as straight ULSD without notifying the customer (still falls under ASTM D975).

What’s the difference between B1 and B1 fuel lines?
I never had an issue with B1 fuel hose despite being in a hot engine room. You will find that marine hose has a heaver wall thickness, and will not take a tight radius. It does have a higher fire rating. Did you find the recommended reading relevant to this discussion?
