I bought a 2009 Silverado 2500 at auction and come to find out the entire trailer brake control module and relay were missing. Ordered this and it was at my doorstep as expected.

2013 Sierra 2500 HD had an intermittent service trailer brake system lite and warning tone, even without a trailer hooked up. I had to drop the spare tire, and remove a metal plate with this and one other electrical assembly on it.

The Red/Black wire for the Trailer Brakes typically comes hooked up to Stud 2. (Mine was hooked up.) If the ITBC system’s Red/Black wire is not hooked up, then you have to find it and hook it to Stud 2. But, do not confuse it with the other two Red/Black Wires used for Aux Power.
