Get 32-34 mpg hwy and 24-26 city. Wagon is great for hauling stuff, I could sleep in if economy totaly folds 😉 It’s like a mini minivan/suv that gets 30+ mpg on hwy. Around town easy to park.

Sounds to me like the coil pack.. 30 quid second hand, 4 screws, 4 spark leads and a sensor wire to be swaped over..back on the road. Was this answer helpful? I concur. New ignition coil and HC leads solved this issue on my 2005 MK1 1.6
