Is Mondeo reliable?

Is Mondeo reliable?

The Mondeo is reasonably reliable. A reliability score of 67% in our latest survey isn’t the greatest, but neither is it appalling – so if you find a car that’s been well looked after and keep it maintained properly, it should look after you in return.

Why does my Ford Mondeo alarm keep going off?

There is something wrong with the car’s alarm system which means that the alarm often goes off when the weather is cold or damp. When the alarm goes off the horn sounds about once a second for 30 seconds and the car’s warning lights flash. Then the horn stops and the lights keep flashing.

Where is the alarm horn on a Mondeo?

The alarm horn was in the left hand rear quarter panel – I had to take the boot trim out and reach in to pull the wiring plug off. It’s only one live wire, as uses negative earth.

How does the alarm work on a Ford?

One is a personal alarm system that makes a loud noise if someone tries to break into the vehicle. This is turned on and off using a remote control key. The other system is a passive system called the Securilock. This prevents the engine from starting without the use of a coded ignition key.

What should I do if my alarm system does not work?

Then, arm the system and open a device on your system (eg. window). Let the system go into alarm (actually making the siren sound). At this point, the system will send a signal to the central station and clear your communication failure. If this does not work, you’ll need a service call so that a trained technician can assess and fix the problem.

Why does my car alarm keep going off?

My neighbours are looking forward to a decent nights sleep without my alarm going off! AFAIK If you don’t deadlock the car (second lock press on fob) it shouldn’t prime the alarm. It appears I need a new bonnet switch.

Where is the bonnet switch on a Ford Mondeo?

Replaced the switch, but it didn’t really solve the issue. The bonnet switch (on the Escort) is right at the front of the engine bay, above/near one of the headlights and looks a bit like a rubber bump stop. You’ll find it on one side and there won’t be a matching one on the other side – if you press down, you’ll feel the spring go down.
