I had two wires get too hot and they melted together. One of the wires was a 12v constant and the other one, I am guessing, controlled the inside lights…it took forever to figure out what was going on. I would check your wiring and make sure you dont have any wires touching that should not be touching. Electrical issues suck.

When do the dome lights come on when the doors open?
First, only 3 dome lights should be on when the doors are open. The lights all the way forward are manually activated map lights. There are three bulbs in the front dome light between the front seats. Two are manually activated and the center one is activated by the key fob and doors.

Remove the dome and do continuity from the white wire to ground, disconnect the driver side door switch and see if that opens the circuit. If not continue on with the footwells then to the headlight switch till you get an open circuit. Boost.
