How can I get my Ford Focus to lock?
Radio fob didn’t work at all. Locking with the key in the lock would lock/unlock intermittently.Sometimes the drivers door only, sometimes all doors. The car would randomly lock/unlock itself while driving along. Did the toggling the drivers door switch 6 times.

But these wires never gets earthed at the SAME time. – So i used my voltmeter a bit. WTF! Both wires were earted. A SHORT CIRCUIT in my drivers door latch. [ohcrap]

Yes it could be a safety issue but if the doors won’t open from the inside that would suggest it’s a failure on the lock. If you have a garage then this works better…

This solution worked for me i have a 2000 (x reg) 2.0 ford focus and the remote central locking didn’t work and the doors intermittently opened after manually opening the drivers door. did as instructed in the above posts now everything is back to normal, thanks for the useful information.
