How much does it cost to replace water pump in Ford Flex?

Luckily it happened at home! I had it towed to local AAA shop and tech said the water pump was broken but he didn’t have tools to fix it since the timing chain needed to be removed to get at it. So, had it towed to Ford dealer and they said the entire engine needed to be replaced at a cost of $8,000.

Is the F150 water pump killing the engine?

I thought the f150 water pump was different and did not leak internally and therefore did not ruin the entire engine. I have an eco150 also. I am also very concerned about this engine. I just can not see putting a $7000 dollar engine in a car with such low value. I also have esp to 100,000 with three years left. We only have 35,000 miles now.

Is there a way to change the water pump?

Of course you can always just change the water pump pro-actively, that would cost you less than extending the warranty. Re: Water pump killing the engine, scaring you?

The average cost for a Ford Flex water pump replacement is between $1,110 and $1,359. Labor costs are estimated between $950 and $1,199 while parts are priced at $160. This range does not include taxes and fees, and does not factor in your specific model year or unique location. Related repairs may also be needed.

Where is the water pump on a Duratec V6?

The reason for this is that unlike most engines where the water pump is on the outside of the engine and easy to access, the Duratec V6 has a water pump that is inside the engine and driven by a chain. One plaintiff in the class-action lawsuit filed in late 2018 claims that he received a $3,000 repair bill to replace the entire engine.
