How is the water pump housing connected to the thermostat?

The thermostat housing is connected to the water pump by 4 – 8mm bolts. 3 are easily seen one is under it. Once the four are removed; pull the housing straight towards the radiator. It will come straight with the black pipe and leave it there; it is to long to remove with out making a bigger mess. housing pulled straight froward.
