A ten min warm up is enough to defrost all the windows as long as the max defrost button is pushed. If not, no amount of idling will defrost them it seems. Just curious, but have you checked the coolant level?

We have a 2014 Escape 1.6 eco for two years now, live in Ohio and we have cold winters. My issue is you can start the car up in the drive way, turn the heater on high and let it run an hour if you want and only get luke warm heat, but once you start driving it will produce hot air.

Once i started driving the air coming out of the vents was hot..within about 2 mins. maybe less. I usually start it and wait about 30 seconds before driving – always get hot air within 2 mins or so. All that idling is just wasting gas. drive it to warm it up.
