How does an electric fuel pump keep cool?
How does an electric fuel pump keep cool?
Electric fuel pumps run continuously with your engine, delivering high-pressure fuel to the fuel rail and injectors. Fuel pumps keep cool by staying submerged in fuel. If you make a habit of running your tank all the way to empty before filling up; your fuel pump will most likely die before its designed lifespan.
What are the problems with replacing a fuel pump?
Fuel filter; this should always be replaced with the pump because even a partially clogged filter is a pump killer. Stuck fuel pressure regulator. Restriction in the return line to the fuel tank. (Disconnect and try blowing through it) Fuel pump relay getting hot and breaking down.
Do you need to change the fuel pump filter?
We really don’t want to replace the fuel pump unless we know there is no other alternative. Thank you. my dodge has a evaperator canister that has a filter inside. if yours has 1 check to see if the filter is dirty. i replaced the fuel pump im my tank and was recomended to change the evap filter too. hope that helps
What happens when you change the fuel tank on a Kohler?
Except mine doesn’t surge, it just runs for a short time and dies. Fuel pump and filter replaced, carb cleaned, fuel tank flushed out– no effect. But the crazy thing is that it seems to work fine when it’s at the shop, but as soon as I get it home, it dies again. I’m about to pull my hair out.

Why is there no air coming out of the fuel tank?
It is more likely you have something preventing the fuel from leave the fuel tank itself. Most times that is a blocked tank vent. As the engine runs, it draws fuel out of the tank and if no air can come through the vent to replace the fuel it eventually creates a vacuum.
