Worn Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) regulator valve will cause harsh shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. This will trigger a check engine light and may also trigger fault code P1870 code. The regulator valve is inside the valve body, and there are numerous rebuild kits with upgraded components.
