How do you program a key fob for a 2008 Dodge Durango?
INSERT a working remote head key into the Ignition and TURN it to the ON/RUN position. PRESS and HOLD the UNLOCK button on the working remote head key for 4-10 seconds. WHILE holding the UNLOCK button, PRESS the PANIC button until a chime sounds to indicate successful entry into Programming Mode.
Why is my key fob not detected on my Dodge Durango?
When I got in and tried to start it, I got the “Key Fob Not Detected” message. Holding the fob against the start button worked to start the engine. Drove home, and again, the door handle/button didn’t work, and the exterior handle/button on the rear hatch also did not work.

I was out this evening, made a couple of stops, and every time, was able to lock the doors using the button on the exterior door handle, and unlock by pulling on the handle. At the last stop, the button didn’t work to lock, and when I returned, the door handle wouldn’t unlock. The buttons on the remote worked normally to unlock the doors.

The remote functions all work normally – lock/unlock and hatch open/close, so I suspect it’s something on board that’s not recognizing the fob, rather than the fob battery. Only thing I haven’t tried yet is to disconnect the vehicle battery (and I’d rather not have to resort to that) but I’d welcome any suggestions before I call the dealer.

Chrysler Roadside Assistance sent a truck, and it’s on the way to the dealer. Glad I got the Lifetime Max Care! Just heard from the dealer – the Radio Frequency Hub Module wasn’t communicating with the system. They disconnected the battery, reset the module, and it’s working again.
