How do you check your supply lines?
To see the connections you’ve made, go to the Pip-Boy and view the map. Look to the bottom of the screen for the button to press to show supply lines on the map. Additionally, you can head to the Pip-boy and go to the Data > Workshops tab. There you can see a list of all of your Settlements.
Can you send a supply line to home plate?

Settlers can be equipped with a gun by the player character and they will not consume any ammo, but in order to use that weapon, they need to have at least 1 (one) ammo in their inventory of the type that the equipped weapon uses. That single ammo will never be consumed and act as infinite ammo.
