How do you change transmission fluid in a TorqShift?

How do you Trans flush a Ford 4R100?

While the engine is running in step 4a above, move the shifter through each position from P to 1, pausing about 5 seconds at each position. This will change some fluid that would otherwise be trapped in the valve body, accumulators, and clutches. c. Refill through the dipstick tube with 6 quarts of new ATF.

How often should you do a transmission flush?

A large part of doing the transmission flush is to keep track the amount of fluid drained and the amount sent in. You cannot get too far ahead (3-4qts at the most), nor too far behind (don’t want to run the pump dry) on the amount of fluid in the transmission at any given time.

Do you have to heat the Trans during a flush?

The trans MUST be heated about 170F and kept there for the entire procedure or it will cut off 90% of the flow to the coolers and just recirculate the new fluid and mix it with the old fluid. So not only do you need to get the trans hot, you need to heat the new fluid that you’re pouring in. There are heated flush machines that do this.
