This belt fit and works perfectly for our particular situation, again, early 1990’s, Ford, F150, Lariat pickup with Ford 302 engine, when smog pump is removed / by-passed.

I usually remove a cat, the evap canister and reroute the tank vent into my cowl to keep water out, and remove the smog pump. 96 and newer vehicles you cant pull any of that stuff off unless you figure out how to make the computer happy. The problem with using a smaller belt on the air pump removal is the belt they make for it is just a tad to big.

Can you bypass the smog pump on an F150?

Instead of removing the smog pump and replacing it with a dummy pulley, I plan to get a shorter belt and bypass the pump all together. Question is, anyone done this? Have any problems? What about removing the hose that comes off the pump? Will that have the same effect? Oh, I have an ’88 F150 with a 5.0 302. Just want some feedback.
