I hate any pre99 Vic, I hate the body style and they have the weaker motor (non P.I. (performance improved) 4.6). One of our officers said the only thing he liked about them was the front-end of the car was shorter but it was just a personal thing for him I guess.

What kind of car is the Crown Vic p71?
My agency has the Ford P71 CV’s and Taurus’ (civilian), the Police Package Chevy Impalas, Tahoes, Surbubans and Civilian package CK 15 pax carrying vans, and lastly we have the Police Package Dodge Intrepids (primarily used in NYC). There are no special tranny’s, nor power adders in the drive train in any of these vehicles.
What’s the difference between a Crown Vic and a police package?
The only real difference between that and stock is that police packages have (well used to have on older crown vics) is that they didn’t have manual low only manual second; now those cruisers have drive, overdrive cancel switch, second and first. Other than beefed up suspensions and run flat tires, they’re only slightly modified from stock.

Can a Police Interceptor be moved to another car?
Airbox and chip, both of which can be moved easily to another car. probly gain 10-15whp. its not alot, but if you want to keep it on the dl. otherwise you can hone crap, but that can get pricey and doesn’t do all that much for the money.
What kind of engine does a Ford Crown Vic have?
Ford could do alot with the CVPI, but they also sell it as a taxi. A stang GT engine or a Marauder or Mach 1 engine would give it some punch. Anything would be an improvement. Do you know what the codes are for the rearend gear ratios?
