Is the back of my 2012 Ford Escape rusting?
Our 2012 Red Ford Escape is rusting around the rear wheels also! It’s definitely a sign of poor quality of Ford products. We have a 2004 Acura MDX that has NO rust anywhere as well as a 2006 Volvo without rust. This is the LAST Ford product we will own.

The ac condenser leaked and needed to be replaced and the rear wheel wells are rusting and the paint is peeling, which is very typical of a ford that is of this age. Taking the Escape to one of those self-service car washes with a pressurize spray wand and thoroughly cleaning the wheel well areas out as needed is about the best you can do. I did that on my truck after every major snow storm when I lived in Colorado snow country; sometimes I’d spray out the wheel wells 2 or 3 times a week.
