The name Satrosphere comes from the Science And Technology Regional Organisation (SATRO) who opened the centre and decided to call it SATRO sphere. It is often mistakenly called the Stratosphere – I called it this for several years! It has a twin centre in Dundee called Sensation that is of equal fun and educational.
