Food and drink Small Island Coffee is located on Level 2 of Bill Bryson Library and offers a range of sandwiches, salads, drinks and snacks. At Leazes Road Study Space, lidded drinks are allowed throughout the building. Please note, no food should be consumed inside this study space.

Former Durham University chancellor Bill Bryson has returned to the city to open an £11m extension to the university’s main library. Dr Bryson, who served as chancellor for six years, said having the library named after him was a “great honour”. The new library wing provides 500 new study spaces across four floors.
