Can you change the front end of a 93-96 Ford truck?
If you go wih the 93-96 frontend you’ll have to fab up bumper brackets to mount the newer style bumper. Interests: Muscle cars, chicks, stereos, women, trucks, women. Very cool. Ya, the hood has a couple hail marks in it. I was hoping that maybe I could get a fiberglass one, but I’m at least glad that I’m able to switch out front ends.
Can you change the front clip on an 80-96?
TXQH is right, any of the front clips are interchangeable with only minor mods. The only one when swapping from an 80-86 to a 87-91 front clip is the rear lower fender tabs. The frame horn is different on 92-96 (safety feature), but the sheetmetal will bolt right up. The styling on the windshield cowl is slightly different, i.e., holes vs. louvers.

When did Ford stop using TTB front axles?
Ford carried its TTB front end forward for 16 years in the 1/2- and 3/4-ton truck (and six years in the 1-tons). For the tenth generation F-150 (starting in 1998) Ford replaced the TTB front axle in the F-150 with a new A-arm suspension, and even though the F-250 returned to a solid axle in 1999, the F-150 never looked back at one again.
