So, in case you are inside the car and someone asks you to open your trunk, you can just press the button (near the power window buttons) that unlocks all the door locks (including the trunk’s lock), and then you just say to the person who is outside of the vehicle to find and press the trunk release button.
Why is the liftgate on my Jeep not closing?
Stop it from lowering so you can keep it open and at least use it at that less than fully open position and it will switch off and go into manual only mode. It won’t shut by any of the electrical options and you will have to manually shut it then also. All fixed from the dealer…contact issue.

The door lock actuator is pretty cheap all considering and VERY easy to swap out on the wj liftgate… usually if you hear a whine, buzz noise its too late, the actuator is gone and this is generally the first step. There is like 1 torx screw 1 connector and it twists out of the door skin.

Went to close it and nothing…tried it from the overhead button, rear button and key fob. Nothing. So I “closed” it manually and it will not latch/secure the tailgate. Tried to put it in reverse, then drive, then park and open/close…and it just stays open! :slapfight: Thoughts?
