It would start up, idle ok. Put it under a load and it would die. Let it sit there for 5 minutes or so and it would start up and do the same thing. It had one of those carburetors that had the float, needle, inlet and all in the BOWL area and snapped up to the gasket and pickup tube on the bottom of the carburetor. I hate that design!

It’s a Briggs & Stratton 6.5 Hp engine. Looks to be only a few years old and in good condition. Friend put in a new air filter, spark plug, and I think also changed the oil. I checked the oil and it looks cleaner and new-ish. I’ve used it several times this year. It’s been running great, starts right on the first pull.
