Is there a 4WD shift on a 1994 F150?
I just bought a used 1994 F150 today w/4WD. I locked the hubs (manual hubs on this one) and tried to shift into 4WD just to test it. But the shifter won’t budge. I don’t want to try and force it but not sure if it should be jammed hard or what? The truck is an automatic with the 4WD on the floor.

Why is my shifter not working on my Ford F150?

Why does my F150 4×4 not start?
Sounds like an ESOF ( with the motor replacement being the shift motor ). Lift and support the front of the truck so the front wheels are off the ground. Key to run position ( do not start ) , engage 4×4 and try to turn the front drive shaft. If it turns it is a problem with the transfer case. If it doesn’t it is a front axle engagement problem.
Why is my F-150 not shifting out of 4WD?
They don’t have a rain shield to prevent water from reaching the IWE circuit and shorting it out. A failing IWE solenoid is the most likely culprit when an F-150 can’t shift out of 4WD. When it shorts, the solenoid fails to release the 4WD actuators. If this is the case, replace the solenoid. Figure 2. A typical F-150 IWE solenoid outlined in red.
Why does the 4WD light stay on in a Ford F-150?
This article applies to the Ford F-150 (2004-2014) and the Ford F-250 and Super Duties (2005-2014). A malfunctioning 4WD system in a Ford F-150 or F-250 will generally trigger several warning signs, including a continuously lit 4WD engagement light.
Can a Ford F-150 switch from 4WD to 2WD?
If the F-150 or F-250 can successfully switch itself from 4WD to 2WD via the 4WD switch in the cabin, then the vacuum lines are likely not leaking badly if at all. However, if it doesn’t work, but turning the 4WD hubs on manually does work, then there might be issues with the vacuum system. The hose is likely either blocked or damaged.
Why is my Ford truck stuck in 4 wheel drive?
There are a few things that can stop the power from getting to the motor a bad module, blown fuse or a bad wiring harness. If the actuator motor is getting power and it still does not move, then you need to replace the actuator motor. I hope this helps and I am sorry for any confusion.
